Utilizing grants from numerous funders, Smith County Habitat provides critical home repairs for veterans.
Repairs include roofing, HVAC repair or replacement, plumbing repairs and other types of critical issues. For accessibility, repairs typically involve installing wheelchair ramps, making kitchen cabinets accessible, installing new floors, widening doorways and making bathrooms accessible.
Funders include Texas Veterans Commission, PenFed Foundation in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, Home Depot Foundation Repair Corps, Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs Amy Young Barrier Removal Program, Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation, and USDA.

Please remember our grants do not allow us to work outside of Smith County, or to work on mobile homes/trailers. You must own the home and it must be on a slab or a pier and beam foundation.
