“Habitat for Humanity of Smith County is honored to give back to those who have given so much for our country.”
Utilizing grants from numerous funders, Smith County Habitat provides critical home repairs for veterans.
Repairs include roofing, HVAC repair or replacement, plumbing repairs and other types of critical issues. For accessibility, repairs typically involve installing wheelchair ramps, making kitchen cabinets accessible, installing new floors, widening doorways and making bathrooms accessible.
Funders include Texas Veterans Commission, PenFed Foundation in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, Home Depot Foundation Repair Corps, Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs Amy Young Barrier Removal Program, Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation, and USDA.
