At Smith County Habitat for Humanity, we believe that strength, stability, and self-reliance begin with a place to call home.
We partner with local families to build or improve safe, affordable housing—helping them lay the foundation for a brighter, more secure future. Habitat homeowners work alongside volunteers, contribute sweat equity, and pay an affordable mortgage. With your support, they build more than just homes—they build hope, opportunity, and independence.
Explore the ways we’re building stronger communities—through affordable homeownership, critical home repairs, and sustainable shopping that supports our mission.
Be involved in this great endeavor! Join us as neighbors by making a monetary contribution, swinging a hammer, or wielding a paintbrush. Together, we can help families improve their housing, climb out of poverty and change their future by providing hope.
William Bishop was born blind, but has never accepted that be an obstacle he can’t overcome. He has held a local job for more than 25 years and owns his own home. After being denied a home improvement loan, he was referred to Habitat for Humanity of Smith County. Through Habitat, Mr. Bishop received a new roof, new flooring, a new central heating and air system, and fresh coats of paint to the inside and outside of his home.
