I
t takes money, materials and people power to build homes.  Donating to fund home construction makes sense. Thanks to volunteers, Habitat for Humanity has low overhead costs so most funds go toward building.  And donations to Habitat for Humanity help more than just one family - as homeowners repay their no-interest loans, those funds are made available to the next homeowners.  Financial contributions including cash, stocks, or securities, are warmly received either by telephone, mail, or through our website.

Tools and Goods through Amazon.com

Habitat for Humanity of Smith County has opened a WISH LIST on Amazon.com. It will allow friends of HFHSC to order, purchase, and send tools, books, and other supplies, often at a discount from other commercial sources. The HFHSC office will be notified of who purchased the materials, and will acknowledge the gifts, both in appreciation and in order to provide tax relief documentation.

To find the list, click on the Amazon.com button below. Our list will appear, with instructions for purchasing items just as personal purchases are made.

Donate Land

We can only build more houses, and transform more lives, if we have the land on which to build! Mortgages or physical property can both be donated. Please contact our office if you have property you would like to donate.

Adopt a Home Program

By adopting a home an organization provides a financial commitment of $100,000 to Habitat for Humanity. The organization also provides a volunteer work force for a minimum of five days. Work days do not have to be consecutive. In exchange for an organization's commitment to Adopt-A-Home, Habitat for Humanity extends its appreciation in the following ways:

  • A sign will be posted at the worksite recognizing your organization's adoption of the project
  • Recognition in any media coverage Habitat receives during the building of the home
  • The opportunity for a representative of your organization to speak at the Groundbreaking and Dedication Ceremonies
  • Recognition in our scheduled publications
  • Recognition on our web site.
